On Wednesday, July 4th, the last session of the ICBM-Colloquium SoSe2018 took place at the Institute of Chemistry and Marine Biology of the University of Oldenburg (Germany). During the ICBM colloquiums, research papers on development, carried out by national and international scientists and researchers, are presented and discussed. In this year’s edition our AZTI colleagues were invited to participate to make known the Life LEMA project and the first results obtained on marine litter in the southeast of the Bay of Biscay.

AZTI and Macroplastics team in the ICBM Coloquium of Oldenburg (Germany).

Besides participating in this event that applies to both, the specialized and general public, our colleagues met the Macroplastics project team, which aims to address the problem of pollution caused by plastic on the coast and the islands of the North Sea. During this meeting, students and professors involved in the project presented the different investigations that are being carried out in the North Sea. The interesting discussion and exchange on the methodologies applied in Life LEMA and Macroplastics allowed identifying both, synergies and complementarities between both projects.

Thanks to the ICBM , the Prof. Dr. Jörg-Olaf Wolff and the Macroplastics team for inviting us to participate!
