Latest wooden boats discovered

Life LEMA ensures a wide range of activities to collect substantial data for the project. One of them is the wooden boats that are launched into the sea from the project’s vessels  during campaigns, with the aim of learning more on the dynamics and currents on the coast of the Bay of Biscay.

This activity is driven by the project partner AZTI and its objective is to identify trajectories that marine litter cross until reaching our coasts. This way, the little boats launched from different points in the Bay of Biscay will be dragged by the same currents by which the marine litter is carried away and will reach the coast as this litter would do. This activity is therefore of crucial interest for us as we manage to collect most of our logistic data through citizen’s participation. New people have found our little wooden boats. Here are some pictures taken these past months.
