Understanding the marine litter challenge through art

The LEMA exhibition was launched to help people catch a glimpse of the Life LEMA project in an artistic way. It is indeed a direct means to raise public awareness on this great challenge of our time.

By emphasizing the different stages of this three-year work, the pictures bring out the diverse stakes of marine litter management. Each stage requires technological investments as well as the involvement of local experts. These aspects have to be highlighted to help marine litter managers move toward the achievement of their goals.

The study takes place in the Gulf of Biscay where LEMA stakeholders join forces to find effective tools against ocean pollution. The final goal is to enable local administrations to track and collect floating marine litter before it reaches our coasts.
